Hello all my dear.
I love the fact that I can once again find inspiration and refuge in DA. I have missed DA more than I could express and now I would like to recap on a few things and to set my yearly goals
2015:
Marriage is wonderful. I love being married to my Superman and I adore being his Wonder Woman. proud of our Supergirl Jade who took on this years Grade R like a champion! starting to learn to read and write is a huge step in our lives and we couldn't be prouder of her. Around may we found out there will be an addition to our family and we have found out it's going to be a Wondergirl! We can't wait to meet Lara end of February 2016 =^.^=
Due to my co-worker having a awful sick year and hospitalized through-out the year I had to do her work as well as mine. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy helping people with all my heart but the stress does build up.
Being pregnant I am most fortunate where I am very boring. no morning sickness, no swollen feet, no cravings etc I do however still have other symptoms like being tired always and getting fat and terrible back ache.
This all added up and by the end of the day, as soon as Jade was asleep by 8pm I was passed out on the couch by 8:02pm. Being constantly drained has an effect on creativity and lacking the time didn't help either.
It's not that I didn't want to art but that I physically just couldn't handle it. so instead of beating myself up over my lack of productivity and reaching goals etc I just took myself aside and said "it's ok to have a break"
4-6 months and I'm finally feeling "right, you can do this"
PHOTO TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This year was my first proper cosplay and Jade got to join me. What an amazing event it was to join the My Little Pony Picnic and what a turn out with amazing cosplayers!
Despite Jade having slipped in mud in the first 5 minutes we arrived she cleaned up easy enough and had a grand galloping event!
if it isn't obvious I went as Fluttershy and Jade went as mini Rarity
Some random photos of Jade through the year. She graduated from Grade R and going to BIG school.
The last time she wore her pre-school uniform to a day event at the zoo
We bought her own guitar where though she can't play chords yet she keeps rhythm and makes her own songs which is too beautiful
Had to take photos of some spring flowers with my favorite flower
Jade was a flower girl at my friends wedding with the theme Peacock. oh boy if Jade had her way she would wear it 24/7!
Lastly the Pathfinders and having earned all their badges. Great to see the children of the church so involved and learning things
WE GOT PUPPIES!
They are a mix between Labrador and Boer Boel. Pluto and Lunar are so precious and lovable and naughty! hahah
love the furr babies
I also want to mention that Husband and I did a road trip in October of our beautiful country South Africa. We took the off beat roads and I must say, I love my country and doing this road trip made me fall in love with it all over it again.
If you push all stupid politics aside, we have such diverse terrain and people and just gosh. I am proudly South African. Husband is so proud and happy that he finally got a BIG BAKKIE (FYI it's a pick up truck)
I ticked off my bucket list of finally seeing Kimberley's Big Hole where thousands of the worlds diamonds were mined.
Some random scenery pictures. I have hundreds more but won't bore this journal with them XD
A HUGE highlight in my life was going to see my all time favourite band The Cat Empire *dreamy fan girl sigh*
Rocking the Daisies is a music festival over about 4 days. Honestly I don't do the whole drunk and high people thing (which is annoying when they decide your tent is perfect pee place) but all in all, it's something I've glad I've done and can tick it off my bucket list. Sure it would have been more actively dancey pancey fun times if I was not carrying Wondergirl in my belly hahah.
Also watching Rugby world cup in that crowd was a vibe I will never forget and memories are made which is what road tripping is all about
Always love seeing my Cape Town friends and family. One of my dear friends spoiled my husband and I to a day trip around Cape Point.
Literally the most southern tip of Africa that you can go and why yes... that seal is eating a piece of fish out of a locals mouth hahah
Another reason for our road trip was to be at my Dad's wedding. Watching him literally tie the knot hee hee
It was a unforgettable wedding (and not for the fact the wind was blowing 50 knots shoo!)
Also we had a good laugh since at each table were bottles of Sutherland wine (which is what I used to be) and also bottle of Le Roux champaign (which I am now)
So the joke at our table was that the Le Roux's and Sutherlands were having a great party (best part is I don't even drink alchohol)
I wish I had more photos of the Cango Caves but here you go anyway! what an educational trip and I strongly suggest you go online and look up more of this amazing place.
I am even more happy that Jade got to be there as well since it's not everyday we get to visit this place... iiittt'sss ssssooo far away from us! a whole's day drive to be exact
ARTISTIC HIGHLIGHTS!!!
I got to meet 3 of my DA friends in the flesh! 2 of which live in CT so this road trip was just jammed packed!
I don't have a photo of the lovely lady Tella
when we met up for lunch and for me to collect the commission she did for me of this stunning quilled peacock. it's too beautiful for words!
Husband and I got to meet up with the most down to earth and amazing artist/programmer/game maker/gardener/best boerie roll maker
We got to spend time doodling and it's really fun to see other artist styles with the copic markers.
Last but not least met the epic
oh the laughs we shared and your family is just too awesome. Your mom and all that food........
Again super amazing to see such talent and hopefully you too will get a Copic collection of your own <3
Then I would love to share what activities our church youth group got up to.
We did a few out reaches to a variety of places (no photos sorry) such as hospitals, orphanage and then winter soup and socks for the homeless.
On the more fun side we had a Mad Scientist evening. Dressing up is always fun and seeing the experiments and learning science/ chemistry is awesome.
Hennie and I did the dry ice bubbles
oooohhhhsss and aaahhhss all around
Then I was asked to host a murder mystery evening... nope. no experience and alot of work so instead life size Cluedo!
Thanks so husband taping the floor plan out in our hall and then all those with good sportsmanship and dressed up I would say we will definitely do it again.
And so in conclusion 2015 was very social and draining coz of pregnancy but all in all what a lekker year indeed.
2016 goals:
complete my OC's height and reference charts
complete illustrated of prolog
LARA!!!
learn guitar
More family/Bible time
get more neat/organised/sufficient in household
